After public hearings earlier in 2024, Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare plans to amend the Assisted Reproduction Act to legalize surrogacy, a move supported by many LGBTQ families who sought surrogacy arrangements abroad. Some women’s groups and scholars want to see surrogacy addressed in separate law amendments.
